Hate has no Place in American Life or Politics
NJ-11 deserves leadership with moral clarity against hate and extremism
No one in America should live in fear because of who they are, what they look like, who they love, or how they worship.
Every person in NJ-11 should be able to go to school, go to work, walk their neighborhood, or attend their place of worship without fear of harassment, intimidation, or violence. That should not be controversial. Yet for too many families in our community, it is still not reality.
New Jersey has seen an alarming rise in hate and extremism. According to AAPI New Jersey, our state has the second-highest number of anti-Asian hate incidents in the nation. New Jersey also continues to lead the country in per-capita antisemitic harassment, vandalism, and assaults.
At moments like this, leadership matters.
And too often, the leadership representing NJ-11 in Washington has been unclear, inconsistent, or unwilling to speak with moral clarity against antisemitism and hate in all its forms. When communities feel threatened, silence and ambiguity are not enough.
I want the people of NJ-11 to know exactly where I stand:
Hate has no place in American life or politics — against Jews, Muslims, Asians, Blacks, Latinos, LGBTQ Americans, or anyone else.
I unequivocally support Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state. And if elected to Congress, I will work directly with local faith leaders, schools, law enforcement, and community organizations to combat antisemitism, extremism, and discrimination wherever it appears.
NJ-11 deserves a representative who will stand up clearly and consistently for every community in this district — not only when it is politically convenient, but when it matters most.
If you elect me to Congress, that is exactly what I will do.
A Hardworking Voice for NJ Families
“I’m running for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th District because our families deserve a representative who will work everyday to make their lives better. It’s time to move beyond the distractions and focus on what really matters — making life more affordable, improving opportunity, and delivering results. I’m not a career politician. I’m someone who has worked with people of every background to solve problems and get things done. It’s time to deliver on what matters to you.”
June 2, 2026: Stand Together with Joseph
In America, we have elections—not coronations.
This Congressional seat belongs to the people of NJ-11, not political insiders. The special election filled a temporary vacancy. Now, on June 2, 2026, you have the opportunity to choose the Democratic nominee who will represent our district in the November general election, for a full-term in Washington.
I believe you deserve a representative who is accessible, accountable, and willing to listen. Before you vote, take a look at my policies and positions. Call or email me if you would like to have a conversation.
If you send me to Congress, I will fight for you every single day. I'll work to lower costs, strengthen opportunities for working families, and help fix our broken economy. I'll focus on practical solutions—because government should be about improving people's lives.
On June 2, your vote for Joseph is a vote for putting the people of NJ-11 first.

Joseph Lewis Stands for Justice
PROTECT COMMUNITIES & STOP ICE ABUSE
Stand-up for NJ-11
When Donald Trump began his second term in January 2025, he told the American people that
his immigration agenda was about safety—about removing “the worst of the worst” and
protecting our communities.
One year later, the truth is painfully clear.
Renee Good—an American citizen and the mother of a young child—lost her life after being
shot in the face by an ICE agent.
Alex Pretti - an American citizen, and a VA intensive care nurse, who was legally licensed to carry a handgun, was disarmed and then subsequently shot to death.
One year later, right here in Morristown, New Jersey, Juan Daniel Mendoza—a teenage student
at Morristown High School—was taken off the streets by ICE agents without due process.
This is not safety.
This is not justice.
This is cruelty—and it is happening in our own backyard.
What makes this even more disturbing is that this cruelty is being paid for by you—the
hardworking families of New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District. The Trump Administration’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill”—a bill I call the Big Ugly Bill—ballooned ICE’s budget by nearly $30 billion, a 300% increase over the prior administration. Republicans in Congress paid for it by reaching directly into the pockets of NJ-11 families. They made the $10,000 cap on property deductions permanent, even as our district continues to face some of the highest property taxes in America.
They made it harder for young people to pursue careers as doctors, lawyers, and public servants
by eliminating Grad PLUS loans and capping unsubsidized student loans. They made it harder for parents to send their children to college by sharply limiting Parent PLUS loans.
In short, they took your tax dollars—your sacrifices—and used them to fund an extreme,
unpopular immigration policy that even many of their own supporters reject, while continuing to
deliver tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy.
It doesn’t have to be this way. With your help, we can stop this.
If you send me to Congress, on day one I will introduce legislation to repeal the Big Ugly Bill.
That legislation will restore ICE funding to 2024 levels and require a last-hired, first-fired
approach—ensuring that the surge of poorly trained agents hired during Trump’s second term are
no longer policing our communities.
The billions of dollars we save will be reinvested where they belong: back into the lives of NJ-11
families—into affordability, opportunity, education, and real public safety.
This campaign is about dignity. It’s about accountability. It’s about choosing people over politics.
I can’t do this alone.
Join us. Volunteer. Donate what you can. Help us build a movement strong
enough to demand better.
Together, we can make America—America again.
